Immersive dome

Make the sky part of the story.

A curved projection environment for shared films and responsive skies. A concept to develop around a site and audience.

A starting point for

  • Signature temporary spaces
  • Night-sky storytelling
  • Shared seated experiences

Shared Sky

Guests look up into a projected sky and, if the brief calls for it, influence a shared scene together.

The guest journey

A clear way in.
A reason to stay.

  1. Enter together

A paced arrival gives guests time to settle and find their position.

  2. Look into the world

The curved projection creates a shared visual field overhead.

  3. Follow the story

A film-led or deliberately simple interactive sequence unfolds.

  4. Return to the site

The show ends with an orderly, clearly lit exit.

What this sample represents

Start with what’s proven.
Test what’s new.

See delivered work

Existing capability

The studio has a multi-projector and 360-degree content pipeline.

Developed for your version

This is a concept, not a previously delivered dome. Shell, projection integration, access and operating feasibility need site design.

The practical details

Make room for
the whole experience.

These are planning assumptions for the sample. Your venue, audience and operating hours shape the final specification.

Space & power
Illustrated 36 ft dome with entry/service ring: roughly 50 × 50 ft of suitable level ground.
Guests & pace
Seating, accessible positions, exits and show length determine the approved audience capacity during site design.
People to run it
A host controls entry and sessions; technical and shell-operation responsibilities need a vendor-supported plan.
Venue checks
  • The dome supplier must confirm structural, fire, ventilation, weather and anchoring requirements.
  • Plan step-free entry, suitable seating, hearing access and routes out during the show.
  • Projector geometry and content brightness must be validated in the actual shell.

Creative directions

Your story changes everything.

These fictional directions show how the format can serve a different brief.

A night-sky story

Bring an astronomy or campaign narrative overhead.

A collective constellation

Let a carefully scoped group interaction shape the sky.

A landscape above

Turn a destination story into a shared seated film.

you’re planning.

How we build together

What we build for your brief

Three studio workstreams shape this direction. Your proposal defines the final deliverables and keeps vendor costs separate.

  • A concept and feasibility scope

Define the audience, story and site requirements with a suitable dome partner.

  • The sky or film content

Scope the 360-degree visuals, sound and any chosen collective interaction.

  • The dome integration plan

Validate content, projection geometry and entry flow against the actual shell before a build commitment.

Studio planning allowance · CAD

Scoped after feasibility

Planning allowance in CAD, before HST. Studio creative and software are separate from third-party hardware, fabrication and site costs. Final scope and live operating hours are agreed in the proposal.

Third-party costs. Dome shell, projection, audio, power, site works and operation require dedicated vendor pricing.

Schedule. Set after feasibility · site design and the chosen dome system determine the programme.

During the run—and after it

The first useful step is a feasibility scope covering the site, shell partner and content approach. Installation, daily checks, weather decisions and return visits are costed once that model is known.

What the recap can tell you

Admissions and session occupancy can be counted through the agreed entry process. Any interaction measures are defined with the chosen mechanic during feasibility.
