LET US TKE YOU
N A JOURNEY

Through the magic of cutting-edge immersive technologies we allow people to cross the threshold from reality into fantasy to engage in an experience that feels otherworldly.

We produce, license, and distribute immersive attractions to venues around the world including, location-based entertainment centers, touring operators, and theme parks.

Who
are we?

We’re misfits…seriously, we don’t really fit anywhere. Believe me, we’ve tried. We’ve been an ad agency, a game developer, a VR film studio, an innovation lab. We’ve been awarded Emmys, Screenies, Webbys, Cannes Lions, even a few patents.

Despite all the accolades, we don’t seem to fit in any kind of box. But one thing’s for sure, we’re pretty damn good at using technology to entertain people in unique and inspiring ways.

How it
started

the digital shift

Back in 2008 Secret Location was just a small group of nerds trying to create things that blended entertainment with technology. We crammed ourselves into the office of a good friend who let us borrow their basement storage area, and dreamed of building impossible things.

We were digital artists who formed a company at a time when digital art wasn’t a thing anyone really took seriously. So instead we turned our ideas into websites, games, apps, whatever allowed us to experiment with our art form. Those ideas ended up winning us hundreds of awards across various industries.

navigating
change

the entertainment era

Then in 2016 we joined eOne, a music, film, and TV producer and distributor. This allowed us to collaborate with some of the most talented makers in the entertainment industry and opened our eyes to the world of creating our own original content.

A few short years later eOne was acquired by Hasbro, a global branded entertainment leader. It felt like we were a big fish that had been swallowed by a shark that was now inside the belly of a whale. We struggled to find our footing as a small part of this much larger thing. Then in 2022 Hasbro/eOne decided it was going to divest from a number of our areas of focus. There were still great ideas we only just scratched the surface of that we just couldn’t let go. So a small group of us successfully brokered a deal to buy back some of those ideas and our name, Secret Location.

finding
our voice

hard reset

Instead of letting someone else write our ending we took control of our own story. It feels like we’re back at the beginning, because we’re still a bunch of nerds working out of borrowed space dreaming of building impossible things. But this time, after 15 years of successes, failures, and finding our own voice, those dreams seem a lot closer and all those impossible things seem a lot more...possible.

We learned to stop hiding our art inside what other people wanted us to make. And now we’re creating something of our own that blends technology and entertainment, something that is distinctly us.
